Sbagliato Rosa

Award-winning bartender and cofounder of Crafthouse Cocktails, Charles Joly has created several variations on Italy’s popular Sbagliato cocktail, which was supposedly invented when a bartender accidentally made a Negroni with prosecco instead of gin (sbagliato means “wrong” in Italian). In this version, vibrantly colored Cocchi Rosa and Luxardo Bitter tint the drink rosa (pink), while a prosecco makes the drink perfect for summer celebrations.

Ingredients

Directions

In a small goblet or a collins glass filled with ice, combine the Cocchi Rosa, Luxardo Bitter, maraschino liqueur and prosecco; stir gently to combine. Holding the lemon over the glass, use a channel knife to cut a long strip of zest, misting the drink with the oil from the lemon as you go. Repeat with the orange. Drop both zest strips in the drink and serve immediately. Makes 1 drink.
