Cajun Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo, Serves 8

Savor a Southern favorite with this chicken and sausage gumbo from the Cajun Turkey Company. Billy Howell started the family business in his Louisiana garage in 1994 and today, his signature recipes are enjoyed far and wide. Loaded with hearty chicken and rich andouille pork sausage, the made-from-scratch gumbo is seasoned with garlic, chiles and onions. It's enhanced with okra, celery and bell peppers, then accented with a touch of smoke. The fully cooked gumbo arrives ready to heat and serve for a satisfying meal in minutes.

Receiving Instructions

• Gumbo ships frozen with dry ice, which may have evaporated during shipment. This is normal. Please take care not to touch any remaining dry ice with bare hands.
• Upon receipt, remove gumbo from shipping container and store in refrigerator for up to 1 week or in freezer for up to 1 year.

Thawing Instructions.

• If frozen, thaw in refrigerator overnight.

Serving Instructions

• On stovetop, bring pot of water to a boil. Reduce heat, place sealed bag in water and simmer for 8–10 minutes or until hot.
• Use caution when cutting bag open – contents will be very hot.
• Serve with fresh, hot rice.
