Tsar Nicoulai Select Caviar Gift Set

The caviar and salmon roe are from Tsar Nicoulai, a California-based producer of top-quality caviar. Unlike its competitors, the company does not mix eggs. Each jar contains eggs from a single fish that are packed at the time of order and preserved only with salt. Complete with blinis, crème fraîche and mother-of-pearl spoons, the set is packed in a chic black cooler bag to keep everything chilled. Select Caviar: Features small-to-medium bead size; jet-black color with slight silver hue; medium-firm-to-firm texture; and buttery, briny, classic caviar flavor.

Salmon Roe: Features shiny orange/red pearls that have soft, round shape that pop to reveal deep, smooth flavor.

Bellwether Farms Crème Fraîche: Award-winning, cultured Grade-A pasteurized crème fraîche is made in Petaluma, California. The traditional recipe uses only the cream of fresh milk to create the perfect texture with subtle flavor.

Tsar Nicoulai French-Style Blinis: Premade and imported from France, these small, round mini pancakes are low in fat with a tender texture.

Receiving Instructions

• Food items ship chilled with ice packs. 
• Caviar and Salmon Roe: Upon receipt, remove jars from carton and store in refrigerator. Place ice-filled plastic bag over jars to ensure optimal temperature (28°F–32°F) is reached. Gel packs in which caviar and salmon roe were shipped may be refrozen and alternated with ice, which needs to be replaced once it has melted. When properly stored, unopened caviar and salmon roe will keep for up to 90 days. Once opened, enjoy immediately.
• Crème Fraîche: Upon receipt, store unopened in refrigerator for up to 30 days. Once opened, enjoy within 4–5 days. 
• Premade Blinis: Store unopened in refrigerator for up to 30 days. Once opened, enjoy within 5–7 days.

Preparation Instructions

• Premade Blinis: Preheat toaster oven to 350°F. Place frozen or thawed blinis on tray and warm for 1–2 minutes on each side. Alternatively, toast in lightly buttered or oiled skillet for 1–2 minutes on each side.

Serving Instructions 

• When serving caviar and salmon roe, never use metal utensils as the alloys can change their taste. Use the included mother-of-pearl spoons or utensils made of nonreactive material, such as glass, wood or plastic. 
• To serve, top warm blini with small amount of crème fraîche and add caviar or salmon roe.

• Select Caviar: White sturgeon roe, sea salt.
• Salmon Roe: Salmon roe, sea salt.
• Crème Fraîche: Cultured Grade-A pasteurized crème.
• Premade Blinis: Water, wheat flour, sunflower oil, lactose, milk proteins, skimmed milk powder, whey powder, dehydrated egg whites, whole eggs, disodium diphosphate (raising agent), sodium, bicarbonate, salt, ascorbic acid (antioxidant).
