Allspice Milk Punch
Old-fashioned milk punches, which combine dairy and some kind of alcohol (often rum), have been making something of a comeback during the recent cocktail renaissance. Here, allspice dram and nutmeg give milk punch a holiday flair. St. Elizabeth allspice dram is stocked at most well-stocked liquor stores.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. (30 ml) aged rum
- 1/2 oz. (15 ml) bourbon
- 1/2 oz. (15 ml) brandy
- 1/4 oz. (7 ml) allspice dram
- 4 oz. (125 ml) milk
- 1 oz. (30 ml) heavy cream
- Freshly grated nutmeg for garnish
Directions:
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the rum, bourbon, brandy, allspice dram, milk and cream. Shake until well chilled, about 20 seconds. Strain into a tumbler filled with ice and garnish with the nutmeg. Makes 1 drink.
