Here, Gaby Dalkin, the popular cookbook author and food blogger behind What's Gaby Cooking, shares her recipe for a fun and festive drink, which she loves to serve alongside her shrimp cocktail for casual get-togethers. It’s easy to put together using her Bloody Mary mix, which combines fire-roasted tomatoes, garlic and savory spices with cayenne pepper for a bit of heat.

Ingredients:

  • Lemon wedges
  • 1/4 cup (2 oz./60 g) kosher salt
  • 1 Tbs. celery salt
  • 2 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 cups (16 fl. oz./500 ml) What’s Gaby Cooking Fire Roasted Bloody Mary Cocktail Mix
  • 1/4 cup (2 fl. oz./60 ml) vodka or tequila
  • 2 cups (1 lb./500 g) ice
  • 24 celery tops

Directions:

Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of 6 shot glasses. On a plate, combine the kosher salt, celery salt, paprika and sugar. Dip the rim of each glass into the mixture, then place on a baking sheet or tray and refrigerate until chilled.

In a large measuring cup, combine the Bloody Mary cocktail mix and vodka. Add the ice and stir to chill, then strain into a large pitcher, discarding the ice. Pour the Bloody Mary into the prepared shot glasses and garnish with celery tops, refilling the glasses as desired. Serves 6.
