David Chang’s Miso Butter Corn
Miso is the key to this simple sweet-and-salty side dish from chef David Chang. Combined with butter, miso becomes an ultra-rich and savory sauce that makes any (fresh or frozen) vegetable shine. This 4-ingredient recipe comes together in a flash thanks to Anyday’s microwave cookware. All of Anyday’s recipes are tested (and retested!) in many different microwaves and home kitchens to make sure they work—and work well.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tbs. warm water
- 1 Tbs. miso paste
- 2 cups (250 g/8 oz.) fresh or frozen corn kernels
- 1 Tbs. unsalted butter
Directions:
Combine water and miso in an Anyday Medium Deep Dish and stir until the miso is dissolved. Add the corn and butter and cover with the lid (knob lifted).
In a 1,000-watt microwave, cook the corn for 3 to 4 minutes, or until the corn is hot and the butter is melted.
Stir until well combined and serve. Serves 2 to 4.
Recipe notes:
• Use any type of miso paste or what's available in your local market.
• Top with parsley or scallions for a fresh touch, or add some garlic paste for extra flavor.
• Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed
