Hanukkah Dinner
Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, commemorates the rededication of the Temple of Jerusalem some 2,100 years ago. For eight successive evenings, Jewish families light candles to mark that event. Especially on the first and last nights, they gather together to feast and give gifts. In observation of Jewish dietary laws, we kept the menu free of any dairy ingredients.

Hanukkah Menu by Leslie Revsin
This Hanukkah menu was created by Leslie Revsin, a New York chef and food writer who was the first female chef at the famed Waldorf-Astoria. For the holiday, chef Revsin enjoys cooking familiar, comforting foods with a few new twists. Dried figs add a sweet note to her tender braised lamb shoulder, while a crispy potato-apple kugel stands in for traditional latkes. This marriage of the old world with the new produces a menu that will satisfy every taste.
