When friends and family travel from far away to join us at our table for Christmas dinner, we like to pull out all the stops by setting the table with our best linens and dinnerware and serving a meal to remember. The centerpiece of our traditional dinner is prime rib, a luxurious main course that nevertheless couldn’t be easier to prepare. A potato gratin drizzled with truffle oil continues the indulgent theme. An endive and apple salad is a light, refreshing accompaniment, and a spiced pear tarte tatin will fill your house with an amazing aroma. Serve the dinner with a full-bodied Syrah or Cabernet Sauvignon and your guests may agree it’s the merriest Christmas dinner they're ever had.
