PB and Banana Sandwiches
The peanut butter and jelly sandwich—better known as the PB & J—has been making lunch easy for countless moms and dads over the years. The popular PB and banana variation trades out the jelly for bananas and adds honey for a touch of sweetness, while the grilled PB sandwich, with a layer of decadent chocolate, takes it over the top.
Ingredients:
- 8 slices whole-grain honey-wheat bread
- About 3/4 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
- 2 large bananas
- 8 tsp. honey
Directions:
Place 4 bread slices on a work surface and spread with the peanut butter, dividing it evenly. Peel and slice the bananas and arrange the slices on top of the peanut butter, dividing them evenly. Drizzle 2 tsp. honey over each banana-topped slice. Top with the remaining bread slices. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately. Makes 4 sandwiches

Variation: Experiment with different types of bread—raisin bread or even cinnamon-swirl bread are good choices—or try different types of nut butters, such as almond or cashew.
