On a warm summer day, why not host an ice cream social? After all, ice cream seems to taste even better when shared with friends, especially when the frozen treats are homemade. You can prepare the ice cream in advance, then take it out of the freezer when your guests arrive. Set out a few sweet sauces (these can also be made ahead of time), and you've got the fixins for a party that will please guests of all ages.
Here you'll find recipes for some irresistible classics, including vanilla bean ice cream and rich chocolate ice cream. Summer's ripe fruits can be transformed into frozen desserts, be it peach ice cream or refreshing blackberry sorbet. Our ice cream sandwiches and strawberry-banana pops will be a big hit with the kids.
